[Harp-L] Original Hohner Pro Harp
i don't think there is a perceptible weight difference between the
Special 20 shiny covers and the original Pro Harp Greblon coated
covers.
As between the painted covers of the Suzuki Hammonds and the
unpainted PLATED shiny covers of the Suzuki Promasters, American web
sites show the same weight specs for each of these harps, which is
not correct. Some European sites give a different weight spec for
each which i believe is more accurate. Hammond= 85 grams
Promaster=90 grams. Since the only design difference besides color
is the covers, it is reasonably apparent that the painted, unplated
brass covers of the Hammond are 5 grams lighter than the unpainted
chrome plated brass covers of the Promaster.
No, i have not actually weighed them myself, but you can check the
weight specs for these Suzuki models at harponline.de. The weight
of the VALVED promaster is reported there as being 91 grams (the
windsavers apparently weigh 1 gram). This seems very precise, so i
tend to believe the specs at the harponline.de site are probably
accurate, (as well as being consistent with my subjective impressions).
