I used to be in a funk/R&B band with a good sax player. At times he'd play 2 saxes at once, so we'd have 3 parts going. Midnight at the Oasis, some Luther Vandross, and some originals. I had to stop phrasing like a typical harmonica player and learn sax parts. Great exercise!
