Not quite bluegrass, not quite country western, but there's some great old
time harp playing out there.
For young guys: Old Crow Medicine Show has a pretty good harp player--the
guy also plays fiddle and banjo. Good band all and all.
The best old time harp I've ever heard was Sonny Terry playing with Woodie
Guthrie, Hudie Ledbetter, and Cisco Huston. Dirty Overhauls has superlative
harp playing. Mel Lyman with Jim Kweskin's Jug Band was also tremendous if
maybe a little psychologically unstable. Butterfield and Rick Danko did some
great stuff as well, in particular a gorgeous old jug band version of C C
Rider that had me in tears.
