Wait until people quit walking out of the room when you play.  Then wait 
until other musicians want to play with you in the living room.  Then 
record yourself and if you don't think you suck, 
jam with an electric band (if that's your aim), the PA will get you 
heard and people will listen if you don't suck.  If this works out well, 
get an amp.

Chops come first.
