The more jams you go to the more you will realize that you need to bring your own gear.  
Some guys are picky about letting anyone else use their gear, especially if the fellow 
jammers don't really know each other.  If you have an amp that you use for smaller gigs, 
something with a 12" in it and your mic and there you go.  Not much more should be 
brought to a jam.  You're not playing the whole night.  Yes, someone could have let you use 
their gear but they didn't want to and you have to respect that.  Heck, its better if you play 
out of your own gear anyway.  So...now you know.

PS you could always go to a jazz jam and play through the same mic that everyone uses with 
some minor adjustments of course.  But you better bring your charts and a chromatic cuz you 
wont be playing a blues in E.
