I also have ear filters, from an audioloigist.  They run about $125 or 
so.  You have your choice of cylinders that cut 9, 15, or25 db's.  the 
cylinders cut volume, without effecting tone, just like turning the 
stereo down.  the units are molded dto your ear.  Well worth the investment.
