Apologies for low harmonica content, but thank you kindly Phil for this link. I know we cool cats and smart asses arn´t supposed to like the somewhat wimpy Glenn M, but I get goose bumps watching and listening to this. The big band era certainly was a high point in American culture, not just the music: women looked adorable and men looked manly and everybody smoked and there were Martinis galore and we all put the blame on Mame.
 
  Pity ´bout Etta J, I guess she kinda forgot that this tune was written in 1941. Although her own version of it surely is a scorcher. And isn´t it comforting to know that Celine Dion felt the need to cover this tune as well ...

Recently, Etta James expressed her resentment* over Beyonce performing the 
Glenn Miller 1941 tune "At Last" at the Obama Neighborhood Inaugural Ball.


Here is a chance to watch the Glenn Miller Orchestra performing the tune 
(from a movie). It's hard to tell if the band is synching to a pre-recorded track; 
probably. But so what? It's still better than watching a video of a 78 rpm 
spinning on a turntable.

Etta James claims the song as her own, arguing that the upstart Beyonce has 
no right to   "cover" her song. No doubt the ghost of Glenn Miller could make 
the same claim for Etta
