Thanks, Bill, that's precisely what I was looking for.

If I get enough responses, I'll post the results on harp-l, in case anyone's
interested.

And if you're curious why I ask; you may have already surmised that I'm
developing a modification that makes it easy to adjust reed gap on the fly.
Just not mass-producable right now on account of limited number of players
that would use it. On the other hand, if there's just a few reeds that are
most important, I'd be able to make them by hand for the time being.

Most obliged,

Turbodog

7 draw reeds - so i can trust that the overdraw will happen and sound good

Friends,

If I may impose on you with a hypothetical question...
...Suppose you were able to wave a magic wand (or twist some sort of small
magic knob) on the back of your harmonica that would adjust the gap of any
reed. Which reed would you wish for?
(Remember: a gap that's too small may cause the reed to choke, but would
make it feel tighter, and easier to overblow. Gap too large: makes harp
feel
leaky, and causes some bends to blank out.)

Feel free to respond off site if you wish.

Thanks,

Turbodog
