drove for 7 hours today listening to nothing but harp players. here's what
i came up with...
little walter and butterfield are tied for 1st.
Try the road trip again without the 8 track and you might realize that all
of the players you mentioned are great in their own way, and you left out
many great players. Any player that can put in the countless hours of
practice, and then eek out a living playing the harp is tied for first in my
book. Sure, some do it better than others based on personal taste, but your
ranking is on the wrong road. Just listen to the players that post
here-they all are different but very talented. What is amazing is the huge
variety of styles and sounds that these talented folks can get out of such a
simple, yet complex instrument. I love them all for what they can do.
