[Harp-L] Re:Jazz-Blues Fusion/Compilation Album/what would YOU choose...

Thanks, James...for starting us off...nice list! That's a great Stevie
song...was having a hard time choosing just one of his...

I agree with you: whatever I'm listening to for relaxation: at home or in
the car - it has to be what pleases me or makes me feel good. There is my
'other' music I listen to that has no bearing at all on my harmonica life as
well as other harmonica music I listen to so I can hear (and learn) how
they do what they do, but that's a different thing entirely. I came back to
harmonica fairly late so am still playing 'catch-up' which is why I now have
so many harmonica related CD's. Then again, I am still mostly interested in
studying what sounds good to me as well..so it still fits, and is all
about pleasing our own ears :).

PS..I only know Bruce Kurnow as 'the Creeper' ....don't know Little Sonny
at all - will have to check him out.

"Just for me to listen to in the truck driving up and down I-5 to the City
and back:

1. Big Walter Horton / Easy
2. Rice "Sonny Boy" Miller / Mighty Long Time
3. Little Walter / Quarter to Twelve
4. James Cotton / Don't Start Me Talkin'
5. Paul Butterfield / Everything's Going to be Alright
6. Junior Wells / Early in the Mornin'
7. John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson / Good Mornin' Little Schoolgirl
8. James Harman / Two Sides to Every Story
9. Carey Bell / Too Late
10. Charlie Musselwhite / Wild Wild Woman
11. Rick Estrin / BYE BYE BIRD (or whatever Rick calls it)
12. William Clarke / The Complainer's Boogiewoogie
13. Rod Piazza / Diamonds at her Feet
14. Gary Primach / Nervous Fella'
15. Little Sonny / The Creeper Returns
16. George Smith / Summertime
17. Mark Dufrense / Liquor and Drugs
18. Paul DeLay / Great Round World
19. Little Stevie Wonder / I Was Made to Love Her
20. Paul Butterfield / Highway 28

Harmonica isn't at all about technical mastery to me, it'sonly about how
it
fits in the music that I love. Happy Holidays, James
