I dunno, the first thing I noticed is that we're not allowed to see him? :) (just a right arm)

Check his youtube video. If you want to contribute to the forum, please do so.

If that's him on guit-fiddle, I think he's good. As for harp, that's fine too.

But to come on here and berate some of my hero's and friends-check your attitude at

the sign in.

I think it's all a matter of taste. And if everyone has to worry about giving an honest opinion. And I believe it WAS honest. Well then, we may as well fold the list.
I was on dial up until 2 months ago, when I went to high speed. Since then I have been bringing in videos by the hundreds-maybe even a thousand by now. I wanted to see what all you guys were talking about. But at 40 seconds load-up PER 2 seconds video, I was up against a 20 to 1 ration. That meant a 4 minute video took 80 minutes. Needless to say I loaded in very few videos, as I found most weren't worth my time. I did this at night when I could tie up the phone. That's why I was always up until 2 + - am. :)

One thing DID notice in the last 2 months. Although I have seen most of these people ya'all are talking about live, I guess they didn't grab me that hard at the time. But I gotta tell you that the guy that is impressing me more and more is this Estrin cat.

Every time I had gone to a harmonica gathering over the last 18 years, ONE person (at each one) has always stuck out. As far as the rest of the players, most of them sound the same. Some are a little fancier than others, but there aren't too many original sounding guys out there.

We have been over this who was who and when WERE they who (ad absurdium), and it always comes down to the same thing. Almost every player will have their heros and to take a shot at them invites a pie swallowing throwing match. The bar is so high right now that none of those older guys could reach it today. It's like the olympics. A champ of long ago would be a chump today. The argument that 'Hey, but they were the innovators', is getting old.

Some people like history, and that's fine. Some like to live in the past, and that's fine. Some like the futuristic stuff, and that's fine too. (although I don't understand it). lolol I prefer to live in the present. I have to be honest here. (wow, another honest opinion). I'm not that big a blues fanatic to begin with. And even less so for rock. I saw Butter as more rock than anything else. Maybe it's because I prefer 'Delta' to 'Chicago' to begin with. I thought he was a good player but I don't think I know anyone from my era who would remember his name. And I am FROM his era. In fact, I am probably before his era. Coming to the list in 2000, was the first I had seen his name in over a generation. Ergo, maybe he appeals to more recent or younger players. I don't know. But I don't think it's worth getting upset about.

I watched it, and all the ones attached TO it. Without knowing what sound system was used to 'transmit' these sounds, I don't see the reason that the test could be enlightening. Even my computer speakers aren't premium. An amp is an amp is an amp unless LIVE.
