[Harp-L] Re: Middle C question

Middle C or C4 is the first hole blow on a Standard solo tuned chromatic
harmonica.

Wikipedia says:

In Western music <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_music>, the
expression "*Middle C*" refers to the
note<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_note>"
*C*" located exactly between the two
staves<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staff_(music)>of the grand
staff <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_staff> and near the top and
bottom, respectively, of the bass <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_voice>and
soprano <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soprano> voices. When calculated in equal
temperament <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal_temperament> with a
reference of A above middle C as 440
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A440>
Hz<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hertz>,
the frequency <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequency> of the middle C note
is approximately 261.626 Hz; see pitch
(music)<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch_(music)>for a discussion of
historical variations in frequency.

Middle C is designated C4 in scientific pitch
notation<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_pitch_notation>because
of the note's position as the fourth C key on a standard 88-key
piano <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano> keyboard.

I went to my wife's keyboard and counted down to C1...C0 (If it exists)
would be off the low end of the keyboard.

Some times I wonder... "Why is that Frisbee getting bigger?"
Then it hits me...
