Subject: [Harp-L] metal polish
Thanks for letting me know, fjm. You're welcome.
I'm not ordinarily a 'product pusher'....but this stuff is just so
good...was developed by a housewife (for real), in order to be less toxic than all
the other metal polishes previously on the market. And it does work on
plexiglas, plastic, ceramic and glass surfaces; leaves a smooth, soft 'glow' on
brass (reed plates) which I personally love, and helps prevent any further
tarnishing under the cover plates. Works on all metals. In some ads I've
seen they tout it for use on brass saxophones, other instruments (guns,
motorcycles,boats and even gelcoated cars)...so it's multipurpose.
I'd only reiterate that the tiniest amount goes a very long way...one
small tube (roughly $5 - $7.00 depending where you purchase it - my local CVS
now has it in stock), will stretch forever. I've only tried the tube polish,
none of their other products and haven't yet tried their newer lavender
scented version but will when my current tube finally runs out. Here's a link
to that one:

I also prefer Scott Rags (cloth 'paper' towels sold for primarily
automotive use) to apply it to my harmonicas and silver jewelry since they don't
shred as easily as paper towels and hold up to buffing. They're for other
purposes too but I save them for my harmonicas so one box of 200 lasts me for
an exceedingly long time. I fold up a bunch into a zip lock baggie for
travelling.

Elizabeth mentions the Maas polish when the subject comes up. It's
extraordinarily good. Much better than Flitz. I'm not sure I would
have bothered to try it if she hadn't mentioned it so continuously.
Great stuff and thanks Elizabeth. fjm"
