Fw: [Harp-L] Recommendations for vintage 520?

I have several Vintage early 1960's shure 520 mics. They have original
Controlled Magnetic elements. Either 99A86 or 99B86. No CRs.

They were taxi dispatch mics and have been re-painted green flake over gold
base. They have switchcraft 5/8" connectors and vent holes plugged. All
soldered connections and terminal set-screws grounding the connector for low
R ground.

All elements measure 1.2K or more.

If you're interested, I can send some pics and prices.

These mics are not ideal for vocal stage performance. They are down and
dirty hard-core blues harp mics. However, they are excellent for vintage
tube type radio transmitter circuits such as can be found in post-WWII Drake
and Collins Ham gear.

These vintage mics have to be "found" by collectors at estate sales or other
methods. They aren't being 'made' anymore. So, the only thing you have is
the quality of the person who finds the mic, and then refurbishes it.

I have been a FCC radio licensee for more than 20 years and (some of ) my
hobbies are restoring old tube-type short wave radios and guitar amplifiers.
Finding GREAT vintage tubes and playing the Blues!
