Re: [Harp-L] RE:lydian mode

If you have a tune in B and you play an F# harp, *all* the unbent notes will deliver the Lydian mode as a scale.

This is one of those situations where position thinking, for all its virtues, can get in the way.

You might find more freedom and creativity in simply exploring that particular combination of tune key and harp key and see what you find.

If you start feeling lost and rootless, then it might be helpful to remember that Draw 5 and 9 are your home notes (aslo draw 2 bent down 2 semitones), and that Draw 5 and 6 (also Draw 9 and 10) will give you a partial home chord.

Hi Jim, I believe you would play in 12th position on an F# Harp to be in
the B Lydian mode (not quite sure of the terminology here). It can be
confusing because you are using the same notes and holes as an F# Major
scale in 1st position. The notes are the same, but your home base is
different.
