RE: [Harp-L] H. Levy and Conceptualizing notes--piano
I am a guitarist first, but when I play harp, I don't reference that
instrument.
I think of the letter name of the note (usually; sometimes the interval) and
the physical layout of the comb and reedplates (so crossharp looks a certain
way, 1st flat another, etc.)
And I play in a handful of tunings . . .

Being a keyboard player first, I know I have a solid musical advantage in
visualizing the notes while playing harmonica.
What has interested me is finding out what a total only harmonica player
visualizes in his head when relating to music. How do you conceptualize the
musical notes? What do you see in your mind's eye?
