[Harp-L] Hohner MB Deluxe disappointment

I have had a no luck with them also.
I purchased basically a full set when they came out [thinking I was going to get a factory made 'hand calibrated' model. I have used them in my shows for some time now with a belt full of back up Special 20's and handmade Lawrie Minson Hot Harps[Calibrated 'Specials' with stainless steel cover plates]. The 'deluxe' are not reliable in my opinion [very frustrating]. I am a very experienced professional player who knows how to coax notes and would run rings around the everyday home hobbiest. I hate it when the MBD's stick; sometimes as the 'humidity' changes with the weather.By the way I had 'lectures' on 'choking' the notes from this forum and although Steve Baker kindly defended his 'baby', I was most unhappy with them out of the box [especially for the price as stated]. Richard I too wish to send the 'offending harps back to the company and will look into it yet. I don't think [as recommended by this forum at the time] I should be having to gauge or mess about with them]. As for the 'new' bamboo comb model lets hope they are minus this issue. There's every chance I'll never know [unless they send me a comp] because the MBD is such a disappointment in my opinion. The fact is I love the Steve Baker SBS extended and I still own many old Marine bands which are still quite playable.
