[Harp-L] Going It Alone

In the early 80’s my wife dared me to do a single. I got a gig at a  
comedy club warming up the audience an hour before the comics. Jacky  
the Joke Man who used to be a regular with Howard Stern commented I  
must have the biggest… Well I don’t but I must tell you using a  
Roland drum machine and playing melodies on chromatic and diatonic  
for an hour during dinner was quite an experience.

25 years later I’m doing it again. What am I crazy? Maybe. But my  
busy travel schedule etc.etc.etc. like most people makes it very  
difficult to get a band together and rehearse. So I’m going it alone  
again. I know its harmonica Karaoke but I get to play what I want  
when I want and for whom I want and that’s a neat deal. I’ve warmed  
up the act in nursing homes and health care facilities and it always  
brings a tremendous amount of satisfaction. That I will continue to  
do as well as private parties, Brunches and what ever else I can fit  
in my schedule. Two years ago I spent a 5 days with Robert Bonfiglio  
(a fabulous experience) and decided to make this harmonica thing work  
for me, and those around me. Touching people with our music is a  
wonderful gift. This is the way I’ll be doing it for now.
