[Harp-L] Purchasing reed plates without the reeds and other questions

Dear Harp-L,

I have a few questions regarding reed plates. I am hoping someone out there
might have the answers.

1) Do any distributors offer blank or empty reed plates without the reeds
attached?

2) Do the reed slots vary in size from each key of harmonica? In other
words, is the blow 1 reed slot the same or a different size on a C versus an
A harmonica? Or is there just one generic reed plate that is used for all of
the keys?

3) Have there been any websites or related literature published on reed and
reed plate construction?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
