[Harp-L] re: Arabic tune

The first tune had a war vibe.
The second (Atilla) could be in the Chick Corea bag.

Sounds great.

Ricardo,

Thank you for that generous response, it's been awhile since I have
been blasted for anything on the this. I had nearly forgotten what it
feels like. I'[m sure joe glover loves the fact that you opted to
focus your energy on me rather than him but you know me, always needed
to be in the centre of things, as a budding narcissist, I for one,
really appreciate your efforts.

Since you seem so adept at enjoying music, I would like your opinion
of this mournful blues tune I'm working one. It's called "We don't
care about nothing because I'm broke blues" it's really an ode to
multiple personality disorder but that's for another post and possibly
even another forum.

and when you're finished with that please have a listen to this
traditional style Irish thing I have been working on.

Mr Montalban eloquently decries:
"He was asking for a little opinion and not for a arabic music lesson!"

Hmmm.... please allow me to give MHP.

Joe Glover requests;
"i have only recently worked out how to play arabic music so the song
is in its early stages yet, i would just like some feedback on what
people think of it, and maybe some suggestions."

to which I responded with my hyper-techinque fusionesque mind:

"While it's interesting, you're not playing arabic scales at all."

Geez, Ricardo, it appears that I honoured his request with feedback
and a suggestion. Sorry if you're found my response to be vague but I
understand Joe's request to be one of, "I'm really into arabic music
and want to learn more."

So who gives a *UC* about Hijaz Maqum? Aside from myself, and others
who maybe interested in delving into the fascinating world of Arabic
music, it is also the orignal poster who seems to be most interested
in such a lesson.

Ricky also seyz:
"Are we still chained into the need of analize everything with criticism?"

I'd like to apply some IceWizdom here" "This reads more like the
projection of one lister's personal attitude onto this community."

Shalom!!!

B
