That's a great starting point. 

In the future pick up venues that are less discriminating so that means less pressure to perform [well]. Regain your morale by relaxing, practicing and just showing up at your venues to do stuff that you do well. 

Also, less is more- at jams it is about creating good music- not just an opportunity to demonstrate what you know.
