what I've been doing is putting the reed plates in oil for no specific 
time. canola oil has a high heat point and is very neutral tasting. I 
could use sesame but then it's would taste like stir fry and we don't 
want to be eating the harps, just playing them. Whatever you do, DON'T 
use olive oil. It has a very low smoke point. Not good for harps or 
house. 

Then I stick them in the oven at 450+ for about three hours. 

Let them cool. Check the gaps, check the tuning. wipe off the oil put 
it back together.
