Re: [Harp-L] Harp Store Recommendation

Brothers & Sisters of the Tin Sandwich,

About ten years ago I had occasion to use lavalier microphones for a high school production of Romeo & Juliet. The local music store had some excellent prices "off the rack". (And they have plenty of racks!) My car radio went out and instead of getting it fixed or replaced I returned to the music store and bought a harmonica to wile away the time to/from work learning to re-appreciate music. (Arthritis has squelched any possible [?] return to stringed instruments which were a personal first love.)

They have come to carry a wider selection of harps. And they sell a L-O-T of harps!

In short order I could blow, draw, bend, play scales and chord. And then I found web sites...

Now my "kit" space has a variety of brands and I have several cases of diatonics and chromatics. And boxes. And shelves...Well, you know, eh?

Support whomever you are going to support. Stop in once in a while and extend your attitude to others whom may have a need to twang, plunk, clack, clatter or blow.

Amen,

Be Blues...And Jazz,

Suave Blues Man

The big 4 are all quite equal in price and nice to deal with. I used to
buy all my harps from H n Stuff because you can call up and they'll answer
the phone. Their stealth time shipping was a major plus as well.
BUT......................

Now, get a load of this: I paid a visit to the privately owned, and busy,
long standing local music store 2 months ago where they sell me the new
stock Special 20's for $ 24.95. That's 5 dollars cheaper than any online
store and I don't have to pay for shipping either. Heck, 4 harps and the
savings equal a half tank of gas.

Coast to Coast Music is great. i have also had excellent experiences (and
lower prices) with Harmonicas and Stuff. They'll also do special orders (at
least for Suzukis--my favorite) if they don't have what you want in stock.
Highly recommended (but so is Coast to Coast).
