Good luck Mike. You've got a plan. I suggest only that you start writing and performing your own songs if you haven't already. You've got all the stylistic reference points--put your own ideas into concrete form and start playing them out in the world. If you're going to go to the trouble of starting your own band, you might as well sing your own song. Get a style and an attitude to go with it, and you've got a brand, not just a band.
