Re: [Harp-L] a great place to buy harps!

Wow, Bruce, I am very touched. Very touched. Keep me posted your experiences with that tuning.

One thing Bruce didn't mention was his own patience with this and his willingness to try something new and untested. The easy road for him would have been to just buy five circulars.
The tuning is here:

Subject: [Harp-L] a great place to buy harps!

there's been quite alot of discussion on harp-l about where to buy
harmonicas. i've bought harps of various kinds from a variety of on line
vendors. i've never had a bad experience with any that i've done business
with.....yes some are slow, some are faster shipping, etc.

however, there is one that stands out above the rest in all terms that for
me describe a GREAT business and a great buying experience...that store is
dave payne's on line store and harp knowledge well....
www.elkriverharmonicas.com

as i'm sure all of you have experienced occasionally, when you do business
with an exceptional business, no matter what the field, it makes you really
feel good about dealing with them.....

usually it's because they really know their products, show they care about
their customers, are totally ethical, follow through on what they commit to
doing and all in a timely manner......all of that and more has been my
experience dealing with dave payne at www.elkriverharmonicas.com.

here's just one example of what i'm talking about.....not long ago i wanted
a diatonic harp that could be played virtually chromatically without
overblows beginning from low F and in a circular style tuning and to cover a
wider octave range than a typical diatonic. so i asked dave what he'd
suggest.....he immediately told me that there isn't such a thing available,
but he'd like to try and create it and have seydel make it.....so he
did......and although i don't yet have the playing skills to master this
wonderful soloist pro 12 hole wonder, it is a masterpiece.

dave didn't have to step up and say he'd try to figure out something for
me....he could have done what most would have done....tell me there isn't
such a thing therefore buy what's available....but dave didn't do
that.....he spent a great deal of time and effort creating the harp i
described to him.....and he kept me posted via email of his progress.

no .... i'm not being paid by dave, or even asked by him, to say anything
about him or his style of doing business..... but because every time i've
dealt with him, it has been such a positive experience for me, i want to
share it with those who may not yet have had the pleasure of doing business
with dave.

the bottom line is this......even if you may not have a particular desire to
buy a seydel harp, which is what dave specializes in.......go to his website
and check it out anyway...and btw, there are a couple of other brands of
harps dave sells.  and if you want to have a wonderful buying experience
when buying your next harp......buy it from dave.

cheers,
bruce
