RE: [Harp-L] Best LiL Harp House

Hi everybody,

I am amazed that this message finds such little of an echo on the list. I
remember contacting the Harp House in late spring, asking for Hering Special
48 in the key of A to come in. They told me that they were waiting for a
Hering delivery for quite a while.... Does anybody KNOW what has happened
with this business?

Regards

Tom (Berne, Switzerland)

Hey Jeff,

Remember, that was the controversy that I was embroiled in the end
of July and the beginning of August. I was calling the phone numbers and
emailing and no response. Every summer since 1984, I come to the States for
a few weeks visit the family, play in the Floyd Fest, with Cincinnati and
Oxford, Ohio folk, and gigs all over Appalachia and the Mid South. On my
return to Europe, I order most of the harps I need for the year at Best Li'l
Harp House which was Kevin's Harps in the old days. My last stop is always
the New York - New Jersey area where my mom lives. I call in the order and
in a day the harps arrive and I'm good to go. Because of the state of the
dollar I wanted to order early when the dollar was the lowest to get the
best rate on the exchange for my credit card. But, no response, so I figured
SPAH folk or vacation time. When I got to New Jersey, I started calling and
got no answer on the 800 number and a message about respecting the
customers' needs on their local number, but no response. Than panic set in
and I called you for some assistance and you turned me on to John Watts at
"Coast to Coast Music". I felt like a trader using another supplier because
I have used the Harp House exclusively since only God knows when. They
rushed stuff to me a million different times to a million different places.
And, even though different people have been at the helm since Kevin they had
never made a mistake and the quality of the harps and equipment were
excellent. They even notified me when they had the Hohner Blues Blasters
with the hot element and on sale. John, who was at the helm for the longest
time after Kevin was instrumental in giving real, honest, and in depth
insight into custom amps and his total confidence in the great Gary Onifrio,
Sonny Jr., which is the biggest adjustment in my gigs and live performances
ever because that is the best amp connection in the world for my style of
play. First, the Sonny Jr. 410 and now "The Cruncher".
But, now it seems that the House no longer exists. Ashley Ali was
the last to be in charge. The info for "Coast to Coast" was right on! John
sensed my panic. Talked it through and delivered the very next from Maryland
to a Ramada Motel in New Jersey. The very next day without sending it
express because of the time of the day and the fact that he did me an extra
favor by getting the order out immediately and everything was perfect!

Thanks, Jeffrey Spoor! You're the Best! And, thanks John Watts from "Coast
to Coast Music"! You're my new House!

Ron "Rockin' Ronny" Tuffel
