[Harp-L] Re: Tone wars
The idea is to create an "air tight" seal with your hands - harmonica, mic,
lips and face. An important area that is often overlooked is using your cheek
to seal off the upper end of the harmonica, pressing the harmonica to your
face. In a sense, you will be playing the harmonica "off center", or slanted
to one side to accomplish this. However, this last bit of air tight makes all
the difference.
Also, the word "grip" is misleading. The hands should be in a relaxed but
efficient sealing state. By squeezing or tightening the hands, you introduce
fatigue and lose a sense of fluidity.

Iceman,
Would you be willing to share with us some specifics of the mic
gripping and handling techniques as told to you by the great Filisko?
