<1. I don't have XLR inputs on any of my amps, so I am using the basic Radio
<Shack 17-dollar XLR to 1/4 inch low-to-high impedence adapter. Is there a
<better option out there? Is there any need for a better option?
That's what I use. I own another one by a different manufacturer as well, and I can't tell any difference in the way they sound.
<2. What about handling noise on the SM57? I know lots of great players use
<this mic, and I know Greg Heumann has a solution that involves fixing the
<rotating grill to the element so it won't move. Are there simpler
<solutions? Can I wrap it up in duct tape like Roger Daltrey? I promise I
<won't swing it around...
Rob Papparozzi used to use an SM57, maybe he can advise on this one.
