How about other Seydels? I just got a new Blues Session in G to see
how it compares to the Sp20. Seemed like it was intended to compete,
vis the recessed plastic comb. I thought I might be nicely surprised, plus
they sell reed plate replacements so I could lower my cost if the harp
was good or better.
Sure enough, I blew a single note into the Seydel, put it down and blew
a single note into a Sp20 and it was nearly identical. But putting it to use
in a song I noticed some differences, and the overall feel in the mouth
was different. I put it down and put on the old shoe, haven't picked it up
again. If and when I have no other G to play, maybe I'll give it a good spin
and see where it takes me.
