My harmonicas - no matter what key - have opened doors for me all over USA, Britain, Ireland and France, and I'm not that good, just positive and friendly and encouraging and open-minded. Most of the time.
An apt parable:
A traveler came to town. He asked a local, "what kinda folks you got here?" Local asked, what kind were there at your old town? traveler replied, "Oh, they were selfish, mean and unfriendly."
Local said, "Well, that's what you'll find here." Traveler scowls and moves on.
Traveler Two comes the next day. Same questions. He describes his former hometown as, "full of friendly, generous people who'd welcome you into their home and feed you if you're hungry."
Local replies, "Well, that's what you'll find here. Had lunch?"
