The first time I played Summertime was for an Estee Lauder commercial  
for White Linen perfume.  The Gershwin estate was there and called my  
interpretation  an "epoch in the interpretation of the song."  The  
fact that they were getting several hundred thousand dollars for the  
use of Summertime probably had something to do with that.  I do  
remember that it's a sixty second song and we did a 30 second version  
that I still managed to sound languid.
