[Harp-L] Meta discussion DO NOT READ (was statistics)

My take on subjects is more on how the poster presents.
When I perceive bullies or elitist tone, it is not attractive.
That is what dampens my enthusiasm.
When sharing without putting others down, I get jazzed.
Of course, I am blind to some of my own behaviors and can understand that others may also be.
In light and shadow,

All really interesting conversations are profoundly tedious to some other people. Me, I find amp discussions the boringist.

Subject: [Harp-L] statistics

We finished September with 1340 posts (Google Group) 1338 (Yahoo Group)
July of this year was also over 1300 posts.  You have to go pretty far
back to beat the September totals; January 2003 we had 1361.  The modern
era high is 1662 set in March of 2002.  During the Hugh Messinger era I'm
sure we topped that number but easily viewed totals are not available for
that time frame.

That comb materials discussion seemed to drive people away in droves.  We
had topped out at 1792 subscribed addresses but we've been in a steady
decline since about the 2nd day of that discussion.  harp-l-listowner
