"Kind of Blue" was actually a Miles Davis colaboration-he invited "Cannonball" Adderly,Coltrane,Paul
Chambers,James Cobb,Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly to jam and record. 
 This is total improvasation at it's finest-but in no way is the finest example of Coltranes depth 
and versatility.
 And don't forget-Magic Dick's "Whammer Jammer" was derived from some of Coltranes licks.
