[Harp-L] RE: Princeton 65 Re-issue

Hi JG,

I own a Blues Jr. that I have retubed and put a vinatage 10" speaker in
(Jenson '65 old new stock). I also own the Princeton 65 Re-issue
Recording Amp. I have never played through the new 65 ReIssue but it is
the as the guts of the Recording amp. My Princeton Recording amp has very
hot/electric nasty tone I love that I can't get out of my Blues Jr. My
Blues Jr. can get sweeter and fatter though. I am not sure that the new
resissue is worth the money since the Recording amp version was about the
same price (I got my for $825 with a pro discount at a local msuic store
new when they first came out) and the attentuation and line out make it the
best stock harp amp out there. (See my review on Harp-L)

I hope this helps but by all means give one a try and see if it fits your
style.

Has anyone played through this amp?
Just saw the ad in the Musicians Friend catalog.
15w, 10-inch speaker, tubes. Can this be much different than the Blues
Jr?
And at and even $900, ("LIst" price is set at $1200 ! ) could it even
POSSIBLY be worth the price? Yikes!

JG
