Re: [Harp-L] If the chords are F#m, E, and D...which harp? 12pos of course!

Is it me or are all of the versions on youtube seemingly out of key?

This one works in 2nd but it sound really "harmonica-eeee" which is
the sound that **I** can't stand. This melody lays out perfectly in
12th position (Low E harp for me) and to me the melody can be
articulated MUCH better. I like melody to sound clean but with zest
and a commanding punch. For me 2nd pos is a little too "bendy" or
"syrupy" then again I tend to like comments like "what instrument is
that" vs "he's a good harmonica player" Yep, making peeps forget
about the instrument is one of the stepping stones to what I like to
call "beinganartistwhoexhbitsgreatfervorosity"

The notes of the chords add up to an A major scale. However, thinking
of that melody (after, what 40 years?) something tells me that it
would work in second position (sorry, Buddha) on a D harp, as I don't
think G# occurs anywhere in the melody.

Try both, see wich sounds cooler and more comfortable.
