Most sources (though not all) cite today as Junior Parker's birthday.

He was a true original, with a style that eclipses just about anyone for
laid back, smooth delivery when that's what the song called for.
(Check out "Strange Things Happening" or "It's a Pity")

While his harp style was very understated, I still consider him one
of the greats in the blues world and a personal favorite.
