Re: [Harp-L] Neumann TLM 103 vs Rode K2 mics for recording

Hi!
I used a Beyerdynamic M160 for years and years. It was an EXCELLENT
harmonica mic...
Eventually it fell to pieces from lots and lots of use. Now I use a 1971
Sure Unisphere for "straight" harmonica, and a couple of 1990's JT-30 Astatic
"Crystal Balls" for that Chicago sound. (They both sound quite different)
These days Beyer M160s are very expensive, but if you want one of the best
mics available, just try one. Otherwise just use the "industry standard" Sure
SM-58... Good value, reliable and VERY tough!
Best wishes,
John "Whiteboy" Walden
