RE: [Harp-L] what is moorsing?

That's a new one on me Bill. Never heard of the expression. I'm not so sure that this is the exact meaning of the word. I cannot find it (yet) in any of the online dictionaries at the library where I work, musical or otherwise; nor in the paper one on my desk. Yes there are some mentions of the word through Google; In Wikipedia, there are a couple of references, always in conjunction with Indian culture. One such mention relates to an album/cd, and displays instrumental personnel thus:" T.H. Subash Chandran - ghatam, konnakol, vocal percussion, jaw harp, moorsing "
....which seems to suggest that 'moorsing' is distinct or superadded to the playing of the jewsharp.
If it is just playing the jewsharp, why is it called 'moorsing'? Either it's connected with Moorish culture, or it's a piece of 'creative spelling'.
I doubt a previous suggestion of 'morsing', which seems to suggest a connection with 'Morse code', which would have to be something to do with percussion, I would think.
Yes, Google is helpful, but if you believe everything you read on the net you will find yourself drowning in a sea of mis-information.

Google is your friend. In ten seconds I googled it and found it is jews
harp or jaw harp. There's some youtube videos of it

Chris is still a list member, he posts under different email addresses,
groovy gypsy, etc. He's had a few recently.
