Full Beard here. On harps like the Seydel Solist and Marine Band, the ones with coverplates that have this seam on the side right where your moustache drags across, you can take the coverplate off, then fill that seam on the side with epoxy, get it down in the seam (from the inside), then go to the outside and wipe off the excess. Once it dries, you won't be able to get a moustache hair in there.

Golden Melody and Huang Silvertone Deluxe and some of the cheapies that can trap and pinch on the bristles real nasty. I get trimming on and off and in unwanted times and places. You can stiffen it with "mud" to get that "breeze in the woods" effects, if you want.
