Now that I've stopped laughing, Joe, and thought about it, it seems like it would be a big dirt and gunk attractor. I always just hold the chrom upside down, use an eyedropper and drop water on the end of the slide and work the slide add more drops till the water and gunk runs out the other side, probably what you do, something I learned a while back on the Rupert Oysler video. I agree, it is probably better to stick to the manufacturers recommendations for Astroglide useage.

Never use that junk on your chromo. Water is all you need. I have a  
secret way of lubricating the slide WHILE I'm playing.
