Well, I've played harmonica for donkeys years!
I have tried various "64" 4 octave harps, but none I have used are as loud
or as air tight as a good "48"...
I sometimes nowadays still play a Bill Rommel plexiglass combed "Larry Adler
16", (the original wooden comb cracked) but it isn't as good as a well put
together "270" or CX-12, despite Bill Rommel's excellent work.... But it's
just nice to have that extra octave!
I guess that is why most (BUT NOT ALL) pro chrom players use 48 holed
harmonicas. They simply play better than the "64"s.
