Re: [Harp-L] under the radar....
Tom Albanese, Harry Garner, Kirk Manley, Brad Harrison, Kevan Purcell
.....Man Chicago has to many. I haven't time or space to do all of them
justice.
buzz........................
~ James Conway for Celtic and other styles. An all around astounding player
from Chicago.
And...Not exactly _under_ the radar, but not mentioned enough as
extraordinary blues players:
~ Mitch Kashmar (check out the "Nickels and Dimes" CD) Great phrasing,
soulful and tone to the bone.
~ RJ Mischo - I caught RJ's presentation last night at Filisko's blues harp
class at the Old Town School in Chicago. I'd only known him by name before.
Now that I've heard him play harp and speak about his career I'd have to rank
him right up there with some of the best. He'll be at Buddy Guys Legends on
Wednesday night with a very hot pickup band. Highly recommended.
