i always have a roll of 2" wide Official Rob Paparozzi 3M Blue Tape
with my recording rig.  i use it, among other things, to tape my
minidisc recorder to bar tables or mic stands so it can't get knocked
off (or walk off) easily.  i learned this trick from zig zeller.

in theory, you could use that, or gaffer's tape, to anchor a wandering
case.  haven't tried that myself.  but maybe i will tomorrow, since
i'm always worrying about this, too.  i keep my harps in a zippered
double case (seydel 14 harp case), sitting atop the low wall that
separates the band from the rest of the bar.  it's not really big enough,
and i have knocked it off at least once, requiring me to dig around in
the dark to find my harps.
