  Click on "Press" in the menu to listen to two separate Radio interviews done last year by Todd Slobin & Marc Lempert (you'll first have to "Pause" the background music).
   
    In the first Todd gives his opinions about which players impressed him and who he thinks of as the future of the harmonica...and in Marc's interview, he gives more specific details about how they hope to distribute and have the movie seen, plus their plans to put it out on DVD later (with some great follow-up harmonica data they collected).  I'll be the first in line to get a copy...having seen Marc in action filming at Denver SPAH, and chatting with him.
   
  if you click on "Revolution" in the menu, you can sign on to receive updates.  These two young producers/film makers who made this documentary, came to SPAH, interviewed so many harmonica players across the US and internationally... and previewed some of their footage for those interested at Denver. If some of what we saw was any indication, it'll be great.  I can't wait to see the finished product.

I would strongly recommend the new documentary "Note by Note-The Making
of Steinway L1037", also. It basically follows a tree floating in the
water through its year-long transformation into a Steinway piano. Pianists
like Hank Jones, Kenny Barron, Lang Lang, Harry Connick Jr., Marcus Roberts,
and others drift in and out of the narrative. But the real stars of the
movie are the regular Joes who work on this piano at the New York Steinway
factory. As they explain what their particular job is and what it means to
them to build pianos you come to the realization that this movie is really
about the dignity of labor and an endangered species called craftsmanship.
If the folks making the upcoming harmonica documentary do half as good a
job with their film as the "Note by Note" people did; we
harmonica enthusiasts will be in for a treat.
