Re: [Harp-L] Big Walter CD suggestions
ironically, the two absolute must-have big walter cuts can't be found on LPs released under his name. "hard-hearted woman," a first position workout that always gives me chills, is on a bunch of blues and harp anthologies. likewise with "easy," his signature instrumental -- it's on vol 1 of rhino's essential blues harp collection and some sun records reissues. it was recorded for sun under the name jimmy and walter. luckily, the late 70s live album "live at the knickerbocker" (mentioned by others) has a great version, inexplicably titled "it ain't easy." that album is great, by the way. for heaping helpings of walter, backed by the sympathetic guitar of ronnie (earl) horvath, it's unbeatable.

Big Walter is definitely under represented in my CD collection. Which CDs
should I look for next? I've got *An Offer You Can't Refuse* and the album
with Carey Bell.
Thanks for the help!
