Yes, worth your time. It's about the most significant thing you can do. Plink the reeds often and plink them and listen to them in relation to the reeds next to it, one common problem is a reed seems fine, but it plinks a little dead, that's when the emboss is too close and you need to deemboss.

  The tool I'm using in the video is a bit heavier than what most folks might use, but you should get the idea...
