[Harp-L] Greatness goes unoticed

Hi Roger,

Hearing Howard Levy play at a workshop did not amaze me.
I had heard recordings and enough from others that I was not surprised.
What impressed me was his taking the time to listen and offer suggestions to me in a patient, direct and personal way during a short break. He could just as easily blown me off.
Any one who has learned from him could say more then I could.
He also said that he accepted the acknowledgment of his skill and he had earned it through hard work and effort.

  Top shelf.

  Thanks,
  Brian

True greatness never goes unnoticed. Howard Levy is an amazing
musician and even though
he isn't in the limelight or isn't featured as the star doesn't mean
that his greatness isn't
appreciated or "noticed". Late night TV shows such as the Tonight Show
or the David
Letterman show have some of the best musicians in the world that are
content to play in a
large ensemble weekly without the limelight ever hitting them. Howard
is one of those great
musicians as are the rest of the musicians that make up the PHC band.
Great musicianship also includes an unselfish heart and the desire to
want to play great
music with whoever you are playing.  That's what makes a great band;
everyone playing to
make the band sound great, not just one player.
True greatness never goes unnoticed...
