Most probably the reed plate warps slightly when you tighten the cover 
plate screw. This is normal. 
 When i had the same problem some time ago i build myself two pairs of 
rectangular washers, so i could "simulate" tightening of the cover 
plate screws without covering the reeds. Now i could find out about 
the problem and fix it. If  the sticky reed is on the blow plate it 
might help to additionally swap reed plates (blow plate as draw plate 
and vice versa). That way you have the sticky reed outside.
