...the midi versions never seem to sound quite right to my ears...not just
for this song, but I listened to "Take me Home Country Roads" on that site and
there were a few 'off' notes therein too.  Better off listening to the
original artist/songwriter or get their sheet music (the

version from Warren's link _http://www.dltk-holidays.com/summer/ballgame.htm_
(http://www.dltk-holidays.com/summer/ballgame.htm)    had it note-perfect...

I was at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich Germany 10 years ago and the house band started playing "Country Roads" I had several Hofbrau Bocks in me by this time, I didn't gus with the harp, but I was singing with it, adding some words "Ich komme aus (I come from) West Virginia, mountain mama..." I was singing to that big picture they have of one of the Kaiser Wilhelms on the wall.  Once everybody figured out I was from West Virginia, I was a bit of a celebrity. Even though the song has so many geography errors, the Blue Ridge Mountains aren't in WV, and the Shennandoah flows in WV for only a few miles (the Elk River would have been a much better lyrical choice)  it's been good PR for the state. 99% of the people in the world have heard that song, 85% of the world thinks West Virginia is a place of enchanted frogs and mystical forests because of that song.
