Hi Venky,

Being baptized in beer ain't so bad... 

I'ld take it apart, wash it out, let it dry, then
seal the wood comb.  it should shrink back to size.

Or send it to Chris Reynolds and have him install
one of those beautiful brass combs with screws 
instead of nails.  Fate led you to this.
